I’ve amalgamated words: in order with if the spirits move me. It seemed silly to be running two blogs to deal with the mix up that is my creative and occassionally spiritual sides. So I decided not to. While it’s not all poetry and free writes over there, that is where those things will now show up.

um, I may have been a wee bit hypoglycemic…

I exist
where coffee comes before thought
minds change like coastal weather
and my winter skin lasts into summer
belying my age
and confirming suspicions
that I truly believe today’s music sucks
and Jean-Luc Picard could kick Jason Bourne’s ass any day
even before a cup of coffee

Having not recorded the words I liked from the last muttering, I did a free write at lunch today. So, sorry, it is not based in my responses, but here it is anyway.

I am settled to disquiet by a slight tremor
now, more often than not
at the thought of you

I am undone to my cells
held together by caffeine
the pinch of my skinny-day jeans
and the notion that I must keep both eyes on the road
(I don’t know why I must, but it’s there – in those same cells)

so I sip coffee, untasted in a glow
of generic cafe lights and old country tunes
I can’t feel their hurtin’
but the tremor in their voices
keeps time with my hands
